Alantolactone is a terpenoid compound, chemical alias: 3a,5,6,7,8,8a,9,9a-octahydro-5,8a-dimethyl-3-methylenenaphtho[2 ,3-b] furan-2(3H)-one, the chemical formula is C15H20O2. Plant sources: Elecampus, Tibetan woody, etc. Zangmuxiang is the dry root of Inula racemosaHook.f. and Inula heleniumL., a plant of Compositae. It has the functions of invigorating the spleen and stomach, regulating qi and relieving depression, analgesic and anti-abdominal effects, and is used for chest ribs, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea Dysentery, sternocostal contusion, bifurcation pain, restless fetal movement embolism.
