Monk fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii) is a cucurbitaceous plant. It is one of the first batch of rare and valuable Chinese medicinal materials published by the Ministry of Health of China. It contains glucoside which is 300 times sweeter than sucrose and does not generate heat. It is a precious raw material in the beverage and confectionery industry and is the best substitute of sucrose. Regular drinking of monk fruit tea can prevent a variety of diseases.
