Total glucosides of paeonia, from the dried root of Paeonia lactiflora Pall, family Mauveaceae. It is a brownish-yellow dried powder with bitter, sour and astringent taste; easily absorbs moisture. Contains paeoniflorin, hydroxy-paeoniflorin, paeonin, albiflorin, benzoylpaeoniflorin, oxypaeoniflorin The content of paeoniflorigenone, paeonolide, paeonol, paeonol; also contains benzoic acid, carrot glycosides and a variety of tannins, etc., of which the content of paeoniflorigenone accounts for more than 90% of the total glycosides.
